Story:

The story begins in Kolkata and here the mafia don Bhagawan (Jackie shroff) is ruling the roost. He has a loyal aide in the form of Jai who keeps protecting him from many dangers. Jai also has a nursery that he takes care of. As part of requirement, the nursery is visited by Sandhya (sarah) and love blooms between both. The story takes a turn with the arrival of Munna (adivi sesh), an arrogant and highly impatient guy who is also the son of Bhagawan. Few incidents happen and Munna gets killed by Jai. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Artist performances:

Pawan Kalyan came up with a subdued performance and his characterization was not clear. Sarah Jane Dias was just okay, if she is looking for a career in south she must put on weight. Anjali Lavania was brief and gave her glamour feast. Jackie Shroff was upto the mark. Tanikella Bharani got a decent role and he used it well. Adivi Sesh was excellent. Brahmi was not great, Ali was standard, Atul Kulkarni and Sampath were grossly underutilised. Subbaraju made his presence felt. The others didn't have scope.

Plus points:

Pawan Kalyan
Technical values
Adivi Sesh performance
Cinematography
Background score

Minus points:

Stale narration
Second half
Title song after the entire film was over

Analysis:

What happens when a director who is given extremely efficient cast, sound technical crew and a good storyline ends up messing it. That's what happened in the case of Panjaa. Holding a very interesting plot, there was good chance of making the film very interesting. However, the director lacked any intensity in his depiction and barring one or two scenes here and there, the film never really took off. At the box office, the openings will be huge due to the Pawan mania but this will be met with weak collections as days pass by.

Verdict: Disappointing!
